I first heard about Jericho Road when I met several of the Jericho Road staff, graduates and clients at a Christian men’s retreat weekend about five years ago. (I learned that Jericho Road is a nine month live-in program for men in recovery from drugs and alcohol.) As I watched these men interact with others in attendance, I was attracted to their honesty, openness and willingness to share their experience, strength and hope.
As a recovered addict, I was invited to participate in a workshop where I was able to share my recovery with the clients. They in return shared their stories with me and I saw that we all have so much in common.
I got to see first hand the integrity of the staff, their commitment, and the love they have for the clients. The staff are enthusiastic about not only the client’s remaining clean and sober but also in helping the men get reconnected in life. The men slowly develop healthy relationships with God, their families, recovery programs and the local community. The staff guide and equip clients with tools that will last them for their lifetime. This is evident in the changed lives of the men when they graduate from the Jericho Road program.
What I have experienced in my journey with Jericho Road is hard to explain to others as it is something you have to experience for yourself. I have heard it said, “The pain you feel today is the strength you will feel tomorrow - for every challenge is the opportunity to grow”
It is very exciting to see God transform the lives of the staff and clients and I felt I wanted to invest in the work that this ministry is doing. I hope others will join me in supporting Jericho Road Ministries with a monthly donation.
